Ideas & Inspiration

Looking for Ideas and Inspiration for working with your groups but have limited time and budgets? Then look no further…. we at Play Resource have created a number of options for you:

The team at Play Resource has worked hard to develop a variety of ways to collect Ideas & Inspiration in response to what we hear our member say! Regularly we get asked for…ways to create a giant wheel, advice on a specific project in school, or a quick activity for a youth club or Brownies?

We understand that members constantly need new Ideas & Inspiration for activities and projects ranging from

  • a quick activity to complete within an hour
  • something specific to a season
  • opportunities to learn new arts & craft skills
  • arts & play activities that will encourage a young person’s learning and development
  • arts projects that offer children the chance to participate in a new fun experience
  • issue based projects using the arts as a way to explore values, the world around them and their community.

That is why we have developed 5 ways to collect Ideas & Inspiration that complement the free scrap materials and enhance youth work with groups:

  1. Quick Ideas (available from shop, web, e-bulletin)
  2. Craft Sheets (available from ideas gallery, web, e-bulletin)
  3. Exhibitions & Displays (available from ideas gallery, art space, web)
  4. Arts Training Workshops (available from Play Resource seasonally)
  5. Creative Paths Arts Projects (available from Play Resource ongoing)

This range is designed with a sliding scale of detail and involvement to suit a variety of group settings.

All the Quick Ideas and Crafts Sheets are now available to download from the web in an online library that means you can search by subject, theme or season. We have created this range to illustrate simple ideas using shop and waste materials or seasonal ideas that are tailored to suit different age ranges. As a further source of Ideas & Inspiration visit the Ideas Gallery, sign up for an Arts Workshop, or apply for an arts project with Creative Paths.
