Creative Path Arts Programme

What is Creative Paths?
This is the arts programme designed by Play Resource to increase children and young people’s participation in the arts and creative play. It is aimed at children and young people aged 3 to 25 years and offers groups access to:

  • High quality affordable workshops and arts projects in a variety of community and educational settings
  • A range of arts training that supports personal and professional development of anyone working with children and young people.

Creative Paths gives groups access to experienced artists, fresh ideas, new skills and increased confidence to deliver arts activities. We offer guidance for preparation and delivery of projects.

The Value of Arts & Creativity
Play and creative expression are essential for a child’s learning and development. Fun and enjoyment gained through engaging in arts activities produces a more positive attitude to learning. It enables young people to develop self esteem, confidence and a sense of pride.

Creative Paths Approach
It is a journey of discovery between the participants! Children and young people, teachers, youth workers, and artists all collaborate on the project to determine a successful outcome.

It will

  • Deliver high quality creative experiences
  • Promote active learning and development
  • Offer access to a wide range of creative materials including scrap
  • Nurture environmental awareness and creative thinking.

Bursary Scheme
Member groups can apply for a bursary that covers 60% of the artist’s fees to groups in areas experiencing social and economic deprivation, including inner city and rural areas.

The programme is flexible and easy to access either by applying for an Arts Outreach Project for your group or arrange some Arts Training for your staff and volunteers. You simply have to be a member of Play Resource, working with children & young people aged 3yrs – 25 yrs.
