Industry and Commerce

We have worked hard over the years to nurture a strong partnership with industry and commerce. Without their support our warehouse would be empty - thanks to the regular dependable commitment of non-toxic waste materials we are able to meet the art and play needs of around 280,000 children and young people throughout Northern Ireland.

They provide a wealth of creative materials - which would otherwise end up in landfill but instead are used throughout Northern Ireland in schools, youth clubs, playgroups, family centres - the list is almost endless!

"We are proud to be associated with Play Resource. It's amazing to see what the children produce - just using our waste - a little imagination and guidance from an artist".

Director, Bing Larmour - Black Mountain Printers, Belfast

"With businesses coming under increasing pressure to minimise their waste and impact on the environment, or face heavy fines, we need to find the best way to dispose of it. We are delighted to be supporting such a creative solution to this problem - Firms donating to Play Resource can be confident that their waste will benefit the local community instead of going to landfill".

Judith Marrs - Rfd Beaufort Ltd, Dunmurry

"GPS is dedicated to protecting the environment and recently became the first printing firm in Ireland to become a CarbonNeutral Company. We believe that working with Play Resource is an excellent example of how easily businesses can get more involved with helping local communities in ways which also aid the environment."

Helen McClay, Business Development Director- GPS Colour Graphics, Belfast

"Oxfam Ireland are promoters of reuse & recycling, and we couldn't think of a better way of reusing surplus items other than donating them to the Play Resource, not only is it environmentally friendly it's ethical. A creative way of reusing which benefits local people and it's hassle free! A win win situation."

Peter Tomlinson, Business Development & Projects Manager - Oxfam Ireland

“As a company accredited to the ISO14001 Environmental Management Standard, AMI are obviously very keen to demonstrate continual improvement in finding re-use for materials that are being disposed of by our clients. Previously a significant percentage of the material used in packaging of computers had to be sent to landfill. With the unique Play Resource re-use project both the environment and the local community benefit. It’s a real example of a win-win situation!”

Philip McMichael, Operations Director - AMI (I.T. Equipment Recycling) Mallusk

So a big Thank You to all those firms and businesses that support Play Resource - you know who you are! We are looking forward to an exciting time ahead whereby our partnership with industry will go from strength to strength.
