Play Resource nomination wins 'Small Charity' Award at NICVA Link Awards
RFD Beaufort Ltd won the 'Small Charity' Award at the NICVA Link Awards for their unwavering commitment to the work of charity Play Resource over the years. In return for a lot of rubbish, RFD Beaufort Ltd took the small charity award!
We had the exciting and unexpected surprise of seeing our nomination for the NICVA Link Awards winning the 'Small Charity' Award. RFD Beaufort Ltd won for their unwavering commitment to the work of Play Resource over the years.
The NICVA Link awards, fondly known as the charity 'Oscars', were set up to recognise and promote good partnerships between charities and the business sector.
We chose to nominate RFD Beaufort because they have provided us with a regular dependable supply of waste for over 20 years now - including some of the most popular colourful unusual scraps in the warehouse! As well as sorting and saving waste materials each week produced during the manufacture Marine & Aerospace Safety Survival Equipment, they agreed to partner two primary schools on the Industry Arts Project over the last year.
The Awards Ceremony took place on 28th September. Paul Clark of UTV hosted the evening. The star guest actress Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw as the Streetcars taxi worker in Coronation Street, was giving out prizes to businesses and others who have excelled in their contribution to good causes. The Belfast Telegraph covered the event in full. Staff from Play Resource collected the award on behalf of RFD Beaufort on the night.
We were delighted to see them win in recognition for their contribution to children's education and the environment!
