Discover new skills, ideas, and inspiration at the Play Resource Waste Fair on Saturday 29 September from 11am to 3pm
This much anticipated annual event promises to be a wonderful opportunity to see a wide variety of crafts demonstrated by experienced community artists. Gain new skills and get ideas & inspiration for your groups. Everyone is welcome – with free entry to members and non-members. Craft demonstrations will run throughout the day. Everyone is welcome ... so bring a friend!
Annual Waste Fair on Saturday 29 September 2007 at 11am to 3pm Each workshop is repeated every 45 minutes and activities on offer are:
- Strange and wonderful creatures from scrap materials
- Printing from scrap materials
- Imaginative ideas for cones
- Junk monsters, Scary 3D sculptures
- Toys, models, masks and puppets
- String puppets – animal and birds from newspaper, masking tape and paper plates
- Bowls and vases from corrugated card and plastic
- Hoola Hoops and animal farm money boxes
- Get into character with scrap materials
- Halloween ideas
- 3D Scrap Sculpture
- Rainy day ideas
Please note: Craft demonstrations will run throughout the day.

Course Details
- Start Date: Tue 18 September 2007
- Time: 10am to 12pm
- Attendance: two hours per week for 15 weeks
- Cost: £50 full fee/£20 concession. Plus Accreditation Fee £20 in addition to concession/full fee

Content
- Planning for arts and crafts activities and development of ideas
- Exploring art techniques within a group context
- Practical use of art materials and equipment
- Health and safety procedures relating to arts and crafts
- Awareness of current Child Protection policy.
Assessment
- Participants will produce a folder of activity plans, templates and samples of work undertaken throughout the course - assessment ongoing.
- Employment/further study
- Development of arts skills within current place of employment or OCN Level 2 due to run in the second semester in January 2008.
