New source of scrap materials arrive…as if by Industrial Symbiosis!

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Exciting news! Thanks to all the Scrap Team’s efforts we are seeing a new source of scrap materials open up to Play Resource. The team has been busy forging a new partnership with the team at NISP (National Industrial Symbiosis Programme) over the last month.  NISP is an innovative business opportunity programme that delivers bottom line benefits for members whilst generating positive outcomes for the environment and society. Put simply, their vision is to change the way business thinks. Operating at the forefront of Industrial Symbiosis thinking and practice, the programme helps companies take a fresh look at their resources.

By creating networks between businesses NISP facilitates the flow of resources, enabling what is one firms waste to become another firm’s raw material.  From our point of view it is putting us in contact with new firms who are providing us with excellent scrap materials – so watch out in the Scrap Store and e-bulletins for any new arrivals!!   We certainly think it is a recycling and re-use chain between businesses worth being part of.
