Exploring scrap & mod roc
Back by popular demand for 2012!! We are delighted to offer two Community Arts & Crafts Training Courses in January.
The aim of these courses is to build artistic skills, confidence, develop creativity and generate new ideas for those working, or wishing to work, with community groups.
Community Arts & Crafts Training Course – LEVEL 1 – Entry requirements: No formal qualifications necessary. Level 1 comprises two comprehensive units, exploring basic visual language, including painting, printing & collage.
Community Arts & Crafts Training Course – LEVEL 2 – Entry requirements: No formal qualifications necessary, but completion of Level 1 is an advantage. Level 2 comprises three units including mosaic and sculpture from found materials.
Start Date: Thursday 12th January 2012
Time: LEVEL 1 - 2.30-5.00pm / LEVEL 2 – 6.00-8.30pm
Venue: Play Resource Training Room
Duration: 2.5 hours x 12 weeks
Cost: £55 member / £65 non-member
Places are limited, your completed booking form and fee will secure a place and must be received by Thursday 5 January 2012.

AGM Invitation 2011
Join us for our AGM at Play Resource on Thursday 8 December at 6pm.

Scrap 'Starry Night'
Come along and see our scrap interpretation of Vincent Van Gogh ‘Starry Night’ as the giant group artwork is unveiled in the Ideas Gallery at Play Resource!
We held a free family drop-in art workshop called ‘Scrap Challenge – Create a Masterpiece’ for Belfast Culture Night.
See what happened when we offered a pile of scrap materials to children, and the young at heart! Thanks to everyone who dropped by on Belfast Culture Night to help re-create Van Gogh’s famous masterpiece ‘Starry Night’ on a giant scale. Each child or adult created their own unique tile using scrap to be slotted into the big picture.
Take a look at the result! Hope you agree – it is an exciting scrap collage now exhibiting at Play Resource offering ideas & inspiration. You can check out progress on the night on Facebook. Thanks to all who joined in!
