About Us

We are a registered charity that collects non-toxic waste materials from industry and redistributes them for free to over 2,500 groups and organisations working with children and young people all over Northern Ireland. These materials are used to support arts, play and education projects in youth clubs, schools, playgroups, after schools clubs, family centres, special needs groups and many other types of children's groups and organisations.

Today Play Resource is one of the largest and most well used resource centre of its kind in the UK, benefiting over 280,000 children and young people each year.

Our members receive access to:
• A unique source of materials in the Scrap Store and creative ideas
• Training Opportunities with advice on creative skills
• A not-for-profit Art and Craft Shop running free art and craft demonstrations
• A flexible Arts Programme known as Creative Paths

We are committed to raising environmental awareness by promoting the re-use of non-toxic waste materials in creative activities and educational projects, and belong to a network of UK-wide Scrap Stores.
